One-of-a-kind interactive experience – Museum on Wheels
Unique interactive museum exposition for the Lithuanian Education History Museum

The Client
The Lithuanian Education History Museum, established in 1922 in Kaunas, is one of the oldest and most esteemed museums in Lithuania. Its history dates back to the Ministry of Education's initiative to organize an exhibition of visual teaching aids for teachers and pupils in 1922 when there was a shortage of teaching aids and difficult situations for teachers. Since then, the museum has undergone various changes in its status, name, address, and areas of activity. As a result of its enduring legacy and strong reputation, it has become an important cultural institution in the region. With its rich history and commitment to innovation, the museum is at the forefront of utilizing interactive and innovative technologies to engage visitors and bring history to life in a dynamic and engaging way.The problem
The client aimed to create an exclusive experience for its museum visitors, developing something that has never been done before. The project's aim was to design a space that is visually stunning, immersive, interactive, and safe for visitors to navigate in groups. From the very start, we know that by setting the bar so high, in order to achieve this goal, the project required a multidisciplinary team of experts in various fields, such as historians, exhibit designers, programmers, engineers, and bus conversion specialists. One of the most significant challenges was to transform our idea into reality and develop an experience that would take the visit to another level - visually and emotionally. This required extensive knowledge in recognizing how to create a ‘WOW” factor in the eyes of a visitor. Additionally, our team’s expertise had to stretch far beyond design and technology, but also demanded a deep understanding of the audience and their needs, preferences, and expectations. We had to find a balance between creating a captivating and immersive environment while still conveying the intended message and educational content. It also involved collaboration with experts from various fields such as art, science, and storytelling, to create a multidisciplinary approach that would engage and inspire visitors by traveling in space and time.
Another outstanding challenge was to curate and present the most compelling historical stories in an engaging way using innovative technologies. This required identifying visitors' journey challenges and designing interactive and gamified methods to ensure a memorable and educational experience for all. The team had to utilize the latest interactive technologies to bring the Lithuanian cultural heritage to life and make it attractive to modern audiences. The result we were aiming for had to be an exceptional and cutting-edge project that would set a new standard for the museum industry as a whole.
The solution
When you enter the Museum on Wheels, you are immediately drawn to the sleek, futuristic interior, which seems to hum with unearthly energy. It's hard to believe that this is a product of human ingenuity - a bus as a time-traveling machine. In the middle of the bus, you can see a magnificent and visually stunning reactor. A poster next to it explains that this reactor was designed specifically to power the time travel machine and is a technological marvel in itself. With its intricate coils and shiny metal components, it is clear that a great deal of input went into its creation.Just from looking at the interior, you can realize that everything inside has been developed by a team of scientists and engineers who have devoted their lives to unraveling the mysteries of time travel. The museum exhibition provides a detailed look at the inner workings of the machine, from its complex circuitry to the advanced algorithms that enable it to navigate the fabric of time. You can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the possibilities that such a machine presents, and you can't help but wonder what adventures await those brave enough to step inside and journey through time.
The concept of a mobile museum, themed as a time travel machine, is a unique and exciting approach to bringing history to life from a fresh and engaging perspective. Our team carefully curated exhibits that showcase significant events, cultural movements, and technological advancements from different eras. The experience allows visitors to engage with history in a way that is both educational and entertaining, making it attractive to a new generation of visitors.

Our solution incorporates various interactive technologies, such as LEDs, sound systems, touchscreens, tablets, and TVs, providing visitors with a truly gamified experience that challenges them to compete against each other in solving puzzles from different timelines. This creates an experience that is more engaging and memorable for visitors, adding significant value to the Lithuanian cultural heritage and the innovation of museums as a whole.
The concept of a mobile museum also provides a solution for those who are unable to visit traditional museums due to physical or geographical limitations. By creating set routes between different cities and regions in Lithuania, our project grants an opportunity for people to experience the newest interactive technologies and engage with Lithuanian history.
Our team encountered several challenges during the project, such as space limitations and finding appropriate technical solutions for gamification methods. However, through creativity, collaboration, and resourcefulness, we were able to overcome these obstacles and exceed everyone's expectations. The final result set a new standard for future interactive solutions in museums, taking the concept of creating visitor journeys to the next level.
Conclusion
This project explores the impact that today’s interactive museum solutions have on its visitors and communities at large, demonstrating the power of innovative immersive experiences to inspire and educate people of all ages. We are extremely proud that together with the Lithuanian Education History Museum we have created not only an interactive exhibition but also a platform for ongoing engagement and dialogue, fostering a sense of shared history and community among visitors and stakeholders alike.Through this project, we aim to challenge traditional notions of what a museum can be and to show that by embracing new innovative technologies and design approaches, we can create experiences that are both meaningful and accessible to a wider audience. By using various interactive elements, thus creating a sense of discovery, we hope to spark curiosity and ignite a passion for learning among visitors, encouraging them to explore the past and contemplate the future.
We believe that the impact of interactive museum solutions extends far beyond the walls of the museum itself, by providing a platform for immersive experiences and education, we hope to contribute to a more informed and connected society, where people are inspired to learn and grow together.
